Good morning and Happy Sunday :O) So, another week has rolled by with alarming speed and it’s time again for Song Lyric Sunday, introduced to us by the fabulous Helen over at This Thing Called Life One Word at a Time. If you’re a music fan I urge you to play along, I’ve been introduced to some fantastic new songs; if you’re up for it, here are the rules:
- Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not
- Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due and it’s honestly just a simple Google search
- Make sure you also credit the singer/band and provide a link to where you found the lyrics
- Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song
- Ping back to this post or my own Song Lyric Sunday post
- Read at least one other person’s blog so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process
The theme for this week is break and this is my choice:
Songwriters: Grant Nicholas / Jon Lee / Taka Hirose
Trying hard to face another day
No more left to give, nothing left to break
Melting in the sun, breathing in the day
Falling into love and climbing out again
No more left to give, nothing left to break
Melting in the sun, breathing in the day
Falling into love and climbing out again
There’s nowhere left to run
No more tears to cry
The river’s running dry
There’s no more left to give
Love has left me dry
No more tears to cry
The river’s running dry
There’s no more left to give
Love has left me dry
Reaching out beneath a sea of pain
Riding high on waves of hope again
Chipping as the stone face cracks away
Crying out again as my bones break
Riding high on waves of hope again
Chipping as the stone face cracks away
Crying out again as my bones break
There’s nowhere left to run
No more tears to cry
The river’s running dry
There’s no more left to give
Love has left me dry
The river’s running dry
There’s no more left to give
Love has left me dry
Why is every minute like a year
What if we could save ourselves from this
Life is such a bitch and it gets worse
fate is like a rope around your neck
What if we could save ourselves from this
Life is such a bitch and it gets worse
fate is like a rope around your neck
There’s nowhere left to run
No more tears to cry
The river’s running dry
There’s no more left to give
Love has left me dry, love has left me dry
The river’s running dry again
No more tears to cry
The river’s running dry
There’s no more left to give
Love has left me dry, love has left me dry
The river’s running dry again
I’m not going to lie to you, this is not the most cheerful song ever written but it kind of sums up how I’ve been feeling this week so I thought I’d share it with you.
Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday
Lisa

New-to-me, but nice. Reminds me a bit of America. Thanks for sharing! 😉

Captures the theme nicely. I have been feeling similarly this week and well for about the past decade. Not really, just some days you know? I am glad to add this new to me song to my music queue.

I hadn’t heard of this band before, but I truly enjoyed this song, even for its melancholy. Sometimes you just have to listen to songs that aren’t cheerful. Thanks so much for sharing!
